April 4, 2012 - What do you consider "professional photos" and "good photos?"

As a photographer, I do not see photos from quite the same perspective as brides and grooms do. I try to combine flattering light and compositions with emotional expressions to create pleasing images that brides and grooms will enjoy. I hope that anyone who hires my services sees something in my photography style that they like. However, there are many photos that I do not consider interesting but which brides really treasure and find particularly beautiful. Since I do not fully understand why, please share your viewpoint with me. I would like feedback from brides and grooms about the following things:

1. What makes a photo great to you? Is it lighting, expression, composition, a particular person or moment? Please be as detailed as you can.
2. What choosing a photographer, do you look for technical ability, how good the bride & groom look, the emotions or moments captured, other things?
3. In your opinion, what is the difference between a professional photo, a good photo, and a photo that looks like anyone could have taken it?
